The Opportunity:

As a Business Process & Risk Control Manager, you will be working closely with the stakeholders from multiple departments with respect to risk management throughout the business. You would be expected to navigate effectively up and down various levels within various departments to understand and design the business processes and internal controls to ensure overall compliance and appropriate business risk management, and to maintain internal controls environment and the quality of business process and control documentations. This role will require you to have a strong big picture focus but be able to zoom in and out of the details to ensure you understand the processes fully.

** This position is based in Bangkok – relocation provided for expat candidates ** 

Responsibility:

  • Understanding strategic priorities of the company and take initiatives to put in place effective controls to enable the business goals.
  • Develop and maintain internal control documentation (end-to-end process), SoD, risk assessment and other documents to support business process including SOX requirement with acceptable quality on timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to process owners and management in designing and implementing appropriate controls to enable business from risk and control view.
  • Initiative process and control improvement to process owners and management
  • Involving in finance transformation at the early state to provide valuable input in designing and implementing process.
  • Embed control and risk ownership to process owners across organization.
  • Support the process owners in coordination with GIA and external auditors in audit activities e.g. walkthrough, information request, testing, remediation plan etc.
  • Actively monitor and ensure that the remediation plans are implemented on a timely manner for any deficiencies/issues found by external and internal audit teams

Expectations:

  • Deliver an acceptable quality of process end-to-end, internal control documentation and other documents on timely manner, approx. 6-8 processes (Score: 40-45 with vary complexity and scope). At least one new process adding each year. Perform a mid-year confirmation via email and execution for year-end.
  • Involves and manages 2-4 key new initiative projects/products from risk and control perspective (Score: 15-25)
  • Keep an up to date of SoD documentation for critical and SOX related applications/systems
  • Provide effective and valid input from risk and control perspective to process owners/management at least 2-3 key areas per quarter
  • Initiate process and/or control improvement to the process owners/management, at least once a quarter (specific process)
  • No high-risk rating or significant deficiencies or any unexpected audit findings found by GIA or external audit (Deloitte) that we’re not aware of. No overdue audit issue reported without reasonable explanation or agreed by management
  • Conducting at least 2 SOX and Control training sessions

What you'll Need to Succeed:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance through minimum of 8-10 years of progressive work experience
  • Having excellent knowledge in SOX, COSO framework, Internal control, risk management, ERM.
  • Experienced in audit, compliance, process, quality or risk control role
  • Knowledge about agoda business and processes (end-to-end)
  • Understanding of Agoda internal applications and systems, how it works and related to each business process such as Oracle, EBE, TOBO, YCS, ePass, Matchbook, LightSabre, Workday, Pandora etc.
  • Superior influencing skills, particularly when without actual management authority
  • Professional “get it done” attitude and work ethic
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Vision
