First and foremost, at AKQA you will be employed as a creative thinker. Your craft will be Copywriting. 
As a member of the creative team, you will constantly bring your perspective to create and build on ideas and produce outstanding work. You will be a champion of ideas and rally behind their author no matter where they appear. Your experience will see you seeking out ways to change behaviour, challenge the use of media and push for a new shape of idea - bringing it to life in ways that get people talking.
You relish the responsibility to sell the best ideas we offer and will be called on to be a part of creative presentations and build a rapport with clients that leads to better work.

You are a confident, directional, conceptual writer with a sense of context, intent, impact and tonality. You respect the power of words as their own unique medium, and aspire to give your words the greatest possible creative power. You have a developed, proven capacity to express your thinking to communicate it internally and to clients, and to shape and adapt it all the way through the creative journey in the best interests of the idea.

At AKQA, you’ll work in an innovative and inclusive culture surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields. Located in Sydney or Melbourne, we work in a hybrid WFH model, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday based in the studio each week.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Generate original, fresh and innovative ideas in a creative partnership to develop and execute creative that meet the client brief and exceeds expectations
  • Develop and execute ideas across various communication channels, formats and multiple touch points ensuring visual consistency, quality, freshness and alignment
  • Push the craft of writing and explore a fresh tone of voice for our clients
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Tech & Account teams in order to find new ways to collide creativity & technology
  • Take an active role in our Creative Council sessions and adopting a pro-active mindset with every new brief
  • Push work to be of a standard that receives accolades around the world

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Experience in an advertising environment
  • A portfolio of creative work that showcases outstanding campaigns and projects of varying nature
  • Strong presentation skills and the confidence to explain and support your thinking, both internally and externally
  • Resilience to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines
  • Abreast with latest advertising and creative trends, techniques and new developments.
  • A solid awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
  • An innovative approach to the media and the ways in which advertising is carried out
  • Above all, you are someone who is passionate, fearless and relentless with ideas. You embrace challenges and inspire new ways of thinking through a strong work ethic driven by creative passion, positive energy alongside a desire to grow with the company
