As Group Creative Director at AKQA Sweden, you will be the most senior Creative in the Nordic Region and lead a team of creatives and designers to shape industry-leading, award-winning work. You will steer the creative vision, while forging strong relationships with senior clients and overseeing complex, multi-functional projects across various domains—including automotive, retail, and experiential design. Your entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving approach will thrive in high-pressure environments, driving impactful results. Your role is to make a difference to digital communications, marketing and advertising, and to inspire the best global brands.


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead by example to inspire your creative colleagues in delivering award-winning, pioneering work that drives change through ideas, creativity, and innovation.
  • Set creative direction and provide hands-on guidance throughout projects, ensuring innovative and world-class solutions are delivered across digital platforms, physical spaces, and live experiences.
  • Create and manage compelling live productions and experiences, including show direction, run-of-show creation, spatial design, and live editing. Oversee interior and space designs that merge creativity with functionality.
  • Engage with C-Suite executives to understand their business challenges and guide them toward effective creative solutions. Coach senior speakers, and develop presentations that make lasting impressions.
  • Lead new business pitches and guide the creative team in delivering standout ideas that secure client trust and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee high-stakes, large-scale projects across the automotive, retail, and experiential sectors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Cultivate an entrepreneurial and problem-solving culture, encouraging self-starters who are comfortable working under pressure to find solutions that drive creative and commercial success.
  • Develop strategic design systems that ensure consistency, efficiency, and innovation across all touchpoints, from digital platforms to physical experiences.
  • Possess exceptional storytelling skills, using your mastery of copywriting and scriptwriting to create compelling narratives across various mediums, including media and journalism.
  • Continually develop practices to foster innovation, inspire new thinking, and improve processes.
  • Oversee creation of award entries and case studies for key projects, ensuring they are shared across the business with relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent AKQA Nordics by delivering thought-leadership talks, nurturing new talent, and continuously inspiring the next generation of creatives in the region.

 

QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive senior creative leadership experience at Creative Director level or higher, preferably within automotive or a similarly fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading collaborative, multi-functional teams, overseeing large-scale project planning, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with minimal overruns.
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture client relationships, with a strong track record of generating new business and growing partnerships.
  • Considerable experience managing European and global projects, ensuring creative solutions meet the diverse needs of international clients.
  • Exceptional presentation skills in both visual and written communication, with the ability to craft engaging, strategic narratives for both internal teams and clients.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for driving innovation and solving complex problems, often under high pressure, while fostering a culture of creativity and resilience.
  • Fluency in live production and experiential design, with the ability to oversee everything from show direction and speaker coaching to media creation and spatial design for physical spaces.
  • Strong track record in planning and executing large-scale projects, accurately estimating costs and timelines while maintaining high quality.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, enabling effective communication across teams and with international clients.
  • Degree in Design, Media, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but extensive relevant experience is equally valued.
