The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll join a highly motivated and collaborative engineering team to develop advanced data pipelines, create flexible marketing solutions, and integrate powerful AI capabilities enabling our clients to gain deeper insights and activate their data strategically. You’ll work on a world-class, mission-critical platform that sits at the heart of our customers’ data ecosystems, directly influencing how they understand and engage with their audiences.

Interesting Problems

  • Ingest and clean large amounts of data daily and blend it with real-time events.
  • Automatically stitch data together across different systems by training machine-learning models to build a probabilistic customer knowledge graph.
  • Realize research algorithms for high-scale production usage.
  • Allow users to perform complex, real-time queries across an aggregated view of their data.
  • Integrations with tools and partners in the greater ecosystem, including Databricks, Snowflake, and several paid-media connectors.
  • Publishing insight-enriched data assets and query results to a diverse set of systems for client usage.
  • Create a powerful and elegant user experience that enables data-driven insights, actions, and measurements by our users.
  • Build the teams that accomplish this flexibly, durably, and while supporting each other in a distributed working environment.

About You

  • Inspired by your customer's success and creating a great place to work for your team. You are collaborative, inclusive, and empathetic.
  • Two or more years of software management experience. You will manage a team of 6+ software engineers.
  • Experience building empowered, autonomous, psychologically safe teams that improve their working model.
  • Eight or more years of software development experience, with experience in big data systems, or large-scale distributed systems including hands-on engineering work in the past five years.
  • Demonstrated experience balancing SaaS expertise with shipping value to customers.
  • Leadership experience as the primary owner of complex projects involving coordination in-team and across teams, and between customers, product management, and engineering.
  • Experience adapting and transferring knowledge and insights from prior contexts into new environments.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge and investigate new technologies.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Experience deploying code in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments

Location

Seattle, WA 

Our hybrid work model includes three days in the office each week, providing a mix of in-person collaboration and remote flexibility

Compensation

Base Salary: $170,000 - $230,000. Within our pay range, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training. 

Cash Incentives: Cash incentives are also available.

Stock Options:  The opportunity for ownership is an exciting part of Amperity’s total compensation package. Every employee at Amperity receives a new-hire equity grant, commensurate with the scope of their position.
