The Role
We are seeking a Senior Director of Business Value Services to lead Amperity’s efforts in defining, articulating, and optimizing business value to drive new business and renewals. . This leader will play a pivotal role in defining Amperity’s business value frameworks, ensure alignment of customer value and pricing/packaging strategy, and support the creation of value-drive sales plays based on a deep understanding of the marketplace and competition.
This highly visible role will collaborate across sales, marketing, finance, and product teams to shape the strategic vision for value-based selling, optimize monetization strategies, and enhance Amperity’s competitive positioning in the market.
Interesting Problems
Business Value Strategy & Execution
- Develop and refine Amperity’s Business Value Framework, ensuring alignment across teams on key value drivers and customer impact.
- Build repeatable, scalable methodologies for creating business cases, ROI calculators, and value narratives tailored to different customer segments.
- Enable sales, customer success, and marketing teams with value-selling tools, playbooks, and training to improve articulation of Amperity’s impact.
- Lead customer engagements to quantify realized and potential business value, guiding executive teams toward strategic outcomes.
Pricing & Packaging Leadership
- Ensure alignment of customer value and pricing / packaging strategies.
- Conduct market research and pricing analytics to inform data-driven recommendations for subscription models, feature bundling, and value-based pricing.
- Partner with finance, product, and sales leadership to implement pricing initiatives that drive growth, improve customer retention, and maximize revenue.
- Define discounting and deal structuring frameworks to support the sales process while maintaining pricing integrity.
Market Analysis & Sales Play Development
- Conduct strategic analysis on our marketplace and competitors and identify strategic sales play opportunities.
- For each sales play, identify specific benefits and create pro-forma value calculations specific to the sales plays.
- Work closely with product marketing and product management teams to inform roadmap decisions based on strategic competitive insights.
About You
- Experience: 15+ years in SaaS-related value consulting, pricing strategy or related functions, ideally with expertise in data platforms, data-driven marketing, or customer data strategies. Proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify valuable new insights from disparate sources of data and to create new strategic frameworks to define challenges and solutions.
- Project Leadership: Ability to drive project success with a cross-functional team and multiple customer stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proven experience in financial modeling, ROI analysis, and building both qualitative and quantitative business cases.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling executive narratives
- Story-Telling: Exceptional ability to drive a customer conversation from solutions to outcomes to emotional connection.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of data engineering, data platforms, customer data, and data driven business strategies.
- Mindset: A curious self-starter with a growth mindset, comfortable building processes and tools from scratch.
- Collaboration: A detail-oriented, organized team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
Location
We have a hybrid work model for employees based in Seattle, WA, and New York, NY, with three days in the office days each week, providing a mix of in-person collaboration and remote flexibility
We will also consider fully remote in CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MN, NJ, OH, OR, and TX
Compensation
Base Salary: $200,000 - $270,000. Within our pay range, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.
Cash Incentives: Cash incentives are also available.
Stock Options: The opportunity for ownership is an exciting part of Amperity’s total compensation package. Every employee at Amperity receives a new-hire equity grant, commensurate with the scope of their position.
