Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for a Summer 2025 Intern for our Hardware Systems Architecture Team.

The Hardware Architecture team plays a critical role in the development of the Aurora Driver kit by working cross-functionally to ensure the overall system design is cohesive and capable of meeting product goals. This involves coordinating the integration of individual modules, designing a reliable power architecture, establishing robust network frameworks, selecting optimal supporting components, and exploring innovative feature requests. Through these efforts, the team ensures the system operates seamlessly and effectively as a unified whole.

We are on the lookout for a motivated cross-functional engineer who can dive into understanding large scale systems and be hands-on to complete required tasks.

In this role, you will

  • Support Electrical, Mechanical, and Software teams in the design and integration of various vehicle platforms.
  • Design and build custom test setups as required to support design efforts.
  • Support the test and assembly of Hardware-In-The-Loop solutions.
  • Analyze test and vehicle data, and feed results back into test processes and overall system design.

Required Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid Electrical Engineering fundamentals including the ability to read and interpret schematics and/or harness drawings.
  • Strong hands-on skills to include mechanical assembly, device debugging, and circuit and/or harness prototyping.
  • Ability to operate and use multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test equipment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive system prototyping and development.
