In this role, you will

  • Develop and implement test methodology for verifying and validating  hardware operation of complex systems.
  • Work directly with Aurora’s HW and SW Embedded design engineering teams to create validation test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Plan, evaluate, and purchase required test equipment for validation work in the lab.
  • Perform component, board, and system level electrical, functional and characterization measurements.
  • Deploy automated scripts/software to test systems, analyze data, and create test reports.
  • Investigate failure root cause and help drive product improvements.
  • Support  hardware  design team with bring-up, experiments/evaluations, and measurements.
  • Support and train junior team members with troubleshooting, measurements, and testing.
  • Presenting and documenting the test reports and test plans, review the schematic and HW architecture;
  • Directing junior-level and assisting senior-level engineers on various projects;
  • Setup a test rack with networking on linux based OS

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in measuring, testing, analyzing, or designing electrical systems.
  • Experience with testing and characterizing communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and MDIO.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, VNA, TDR, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Ability to set up test stations with network configurations.
  • Extensive experience in hardware troubleshooting and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Knowledge of shell scripting and Python.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Desirable Qualifications (this section is optional)

  • Experience on Lidar HW design and/or testing
  • Experience on ISO16750-2 testing
  • Proven experience in the product life cycle development process from concept to production.
  • Project management of complex systems
  • Familiar with EE design tools, such as schematic capture and layout.
  • Designing and prototyping test boards

The base salary range for this position is $181,000.00-$290,000.00 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
