Purpose of Role

Leading financial governance by managing the enabling functions and delivering on the position outputs of the Senior Financial Manager: Shared Services. Which include financial reporting, working capital optimisation, internal control implementation and monitoring. Manage finance function at a Shared Services level (full general ledger, accounts payable, intercompany), drive successful completion of internal & external audit processes. Advise on financial and commercial aspects relevant on operational matters. Business partner to all regional FM’s and operational teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Management and oversight of the full shared services function for five statutory entities

• Management and oversight of the full accounts payable function for RSA

• Management and optimisation of working capital levels including the review and approval of the weekly cash forecasts General ledger recon review (including payroll)

• Lead financial planning and analysis including the strategic business plan and forecast process.

• Liaising with internal and external Auditors

• Drive successful completion of external audit

• Manage relationships and contracts with suppliers

• Management of regional risk register and implementation measure to mitigate these risks.

• Drive system and process improvements

• Staff management

• Coaching and support to capacitate the finance team.

Primary Outputs

• Reviewing and approval of general ledger reconciliations including payroll.

• Ensure cash collections are maximised

• Manage the finance team effectively.

• Training & development of finance employees.

• Implement and review internal controls / corporate governance.

• Manage customer relationships.

• Manage and where applicable compilation of business plans & forecasts.

• Oversee and where applicable implementation of finance and operation improvement projects.

• Internal & External audit co-ordination and ensuring audit deficiencies are promptly addressed.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Minimum required qualification:

• Bachelor of Commerce Degree or relevant tertiary qualification

• CA (SA) or alternatively extensive experience as a financial manager in various Barloworld Equipment financial positions, regions and countries.

Minimum required experience:

• Minimum 8 years post articles experience of which at least 3 years is at a senior management level.
