BAYADA at Inspira Hospice is hiring a per-diem Massage Therapist to support our clients in Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland County, NJ. As a Massage Therapist in our Hospice office, you will be a member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) who provides therapy through the manipulation of the soft-tissue and muscles of the body for our clients in homes and senior living facilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Each Massage Therapist must:

  1. Complete a massage therapy training program which is accredited by the United States Department of Education (USDE),
  2. Meet all state requirements including licensure, certification and other requirements for the practice of massage therapy
  3. Have a minimum of one year of verifiable therapeutic massage experience. Experience with end-of-life population is preferred but not required
  4. Meet all competency requirements of BAYADA
  5. Have ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
  6. Understand and connect with BAYADA’s culture
  7. Have a criminal background check completed. 

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts therapeutic massage with clients as part of the interdisciplinary Hospice team.              
  • Communicates with supervisor at least weekly regarding the client’s needs and progress. 
  • Attends and participates in IDG meetings as required.
  • Evaluates and teaches the client in the area of comfort and function, and provides a supportive  role in symptom control.
  • Adheres to the established hospice care plan in providing support services.          
  • Performs therapeutic massage as directed by the IDG according to the hospice care plan. 
  • Demonstrates sound judgment.
  • Understands and follows safety and infection control policies and practices. 
  • Reports changes to the Psychosocial or Clinical Manager.

 ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES*: 

  • Is reliable and punctual.           
  • Demonstrates an appropriate attitude.
  • Maintains a positive rapport with clients and families, as evidence by client satisfaction. 
  • Maintains current clinical notes and records on all clients that are
    1. Reflective of client’s progress toward goals; 
    2. Submitted to BAYADA Hospice office within the specified time frame; and
    3. In compliance with BAYADA policies. 
  • Meets deadlines for ongoing in-service training and health screening requirements.
