About Bench’s Partnerships Team

The Partnerships team is an integral part of the revenue function at Bench. We accelerate business growth by discovering new go-to-market channels and introducing innovative product offerings to Bench’s small business customers through strategic partnerships.

Our partner ecosystem includes software platforms, fintechs, company formation agents, marketplaces, and professional service firms—organizations seeking to offer their clients market-leading bookkeeping and tax solutions. Bench facilitates these partnerships through referral, reseller, and white-label models.

Although our team is small, with seven experienced members, we are at an exciting stage of growth. This is an opportunity for you to make a significant impact by shaping the long-term operating model of our function and implementing tools to optimize partner operations.

The Role

As a Specialist, Partnership Operations, you will be responsible for managing and refining the operational processes that support Bench’s partner relationships. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accuracy and timeliness in partner billing, revenue share tracking, and partner payouts. You will work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as well as other internal stakeholders, to ensure seamless operations.

Beyond managing day-to-day operations, you will take ownership of process improvement initiatives to create more efficient and scalable systems. You will also manage partner records, build performance reports, and collaborate with the partner marketing team to support campaigns and events. This role is key to ensuring operational excellence in our partnership programs, driving growth for Bench and our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize partnership operations: Manage and improve partner billing, revenue share tracking, and payouts, ensuring they are accurate and timely.
  • Process Improvement: Review existing operational processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to drive scalability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Finance: Support finance-related inquiries from partners and ensure smooth communication between partners and internal finance teams.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Build and maintain reports, such as partner development pipeline and commercial performance metrics, to drive informed decision-making across the business.
  • Salesforce Management: Create and manage partner records in Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the partner marketing team to facilitate marketing campaigns and events, providing operational support for partner initiatives.
  • Resource Management: Develop an organized system for storing and managing partner resources, such as sales enablement materials, discount histories, and promotional assets.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain all internal documentation related to partner operations.
  • Communication Liaison: Act as a key point of contact between partners and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and resolution of operational issues.

What You Bring

  • Experience in partnerships or sales operations, with a strong understanding of channel or affiliate programs.
  • Commercial acumen and analytical skills to review and optimize partner processes.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a passion for creating structured, repeatable processes.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and reporting metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with partners and internal teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter with a drive to take initiative and deliver results.

How Success is Measured

  • Operational Efficiency: Partner billing, reporting, and payouts are accurate and timely, enhancing the partner experience.
  • Scalability: You will identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency, supporting the growth of Bench’s partnership ecosystem.
