Responsibilities
Manage the Transaction Monitoring Intelligence team, developing intelligence-driven strategies for identifying and mitigating risks related to money laundering, fraud, and other illicit activitiesLead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of transaction monitoring frameworks to detect and report suspicious activities across the platform, ensuring compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and financial crime regulationsIdentify patterns, trends, and emerging risks associated with crypto transactions by analyzing transaction data and generating actionable insights for proactive risk managementLead a team to investigate customer activities to detect money laundering and other potential risks, recommending appropriate actionsPerform in-depth on-chain reviews and investigations utilizing tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic as well as open-source tools such as Etherscan, Mempool, etcSubject-matter-expertise in crypto-driven crime typologiesRespond, address, and remediate potential audit findings, and develop controls that respondEnsure timely and accurate reporting of suspicious activity and risk mitigations, maintain comprehensive records in accordance with regulatory requirementsIdentify trends in abnormal or malicious activity in order to map out networks of bad actors.Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in global AML regulations, crypto-related financial crime trends, and best practices to ensure the company’s transaction monitoring program remains effective and compliantLead, mentor, and manage a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and providing training on best practices and new tools for transaction monitoring and financial crime preventionDeliver, summarize, and escalate matters to senior management as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, computer science, or criminology from an accredited institution5+ years of experience in AML/CTF investigations within a fintech or cryptocurrency companyAdvanced experience with blockchain monitoring/analytics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM, etcExperience researching and analyzing cyber-crime, especially if financial in nature, and familiarity with cybercriminal organizations and tacticsAbility to conduct network analysis efficiently datasets and create diagrams depicting illicit networksAnalytical problem solver with extensive experience in compliance functionsAbility to navigate through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills, and fully dedicated to delivering a value-add service to business customers and internal stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to ask the right questions and to use sound business judgment when collaborating with a wide-range of stakeholdersWhy Binance
