ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced leader to to lead our local Operations and Engineering team oversee all aspects of our Guadalajara, Mexico site, which includes approximately 70 employees in different functions.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of delivering Bright Machines Products to customers, driving efficiency, and fostering collaboration across functions to meet business objectives.
As the Director of Operations and site leader you will directly manage Operations, Integration, Services, Project management and engineering teams, as well as in-directly oversee supply chain, HR, and finance to ensure smooth day-to-day execution and long-term success.

This position requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and operational expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience managing manufacturing or operations in a technology or automation company and will be adept at working cross-functionally with teams in the United States as well as working with customers. Experience in electronics manufacturing and assembly would be a great fit for the role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Oversee all aspects of the Guadalajara site, including project management, service and integration, engineering, supply chain, HR, and facilities. Some reporting directly to the site leader, and some functions reporting into our HQ in San Francisco.
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals across multiple functions, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence by optimizing workflows, improving efficiencies, and implementing best practices across different functions and in alignment with the different functional leaders.
  • Collaborate with global teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, Finance, and HR, to align on strategy and execution.
  • Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and local partners to ensure seamless operations and processes. Partners with local suppliers to improve capabilities, cost, quality and lead time.
  • Oversee strategic projects developed and deployed by the local teams. Managing the customer relationships, ensuring projects compliance, proper delivery for each milestone – in time, in budget and with high quality
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, workforce management, and overall site performance.
  • Supports Sales with pre-sales process by preparation of customer proposals, solution designs, value proposition and internal budgets for pricing purpose
  • Represent the Guadalajara site with executive leadership and provide updates on key initiatives and performance metrics.

  • WHAT WE WANT TO SEE

  • 7+ years of experience in operations management, manufacturing, automation, or supply chain within a technology, automation, or industrial company.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience collaborating with executive leadership and key leaders across different regions,
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and regions.
  • Knowledge in local requirements, regulations and compliance
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment, adapting to changing priorities and challenges.
  • English at a high level both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel to our SF office and different customer sites as required
  • IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Background in manufacturing automation and robotics.
