Your Job:

The Marketing Manager, APLA is responsible for executing integrated brand and marketing strategies across our markets in Asia-Pacific & Latin America to drive runner engagement and Brooks’ growth. You’ll be working with an array of Distributors, at different stages of brand maturity to bring the Brooks brand to life, respecting cultural differences, brand awareness, and consumer-needs. You will understand business objectives, product positioning, consumer and customer insights, setting brand/ marketing initiative objectives and develop strategies and content that deliver against local needs. You will partner with the GM – International Markets to ensure a seamless, consistent strategy and execution across seasons.  You will work closely with product, sales, consumer insights and respective marketing functions to refine strategies and ensure execution against plan. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure integration of global marketing priorities in each market. Requires effective communication across languages and time zones. Includes leading execution of seasonal strategy with Distributors to interpret and localize content for maximum impact.
  • Manage the delivery of all seasonal marketing materials and programs for Distributor execution.
  • Full collaboration with US-Marketing teams to both ensure timely coordination with international partners, as well as advocating for key market (China, Japan, Australia, Brazil) needs.
  • Partner closely with product, sales, consumer insights and US Marketing to localize strategies for APLA market
  • Develop marketing goals and initiatives for each Distributor that are aligned with the overall strategic plan to drive revenue, product awareness and brand momentum.  This includes managing all facets of marketing: retail, events, sports marketing, PR, social, etc.
  • Lead the initiative with our Brand Retail team to achieve brand consistency offline, from real estate selection to merchandising assortment and brand look-and-feel. 
  • Lead the initiative with our e-commerce and digital teams to achieve brand consistency online, from URLs to content and look-and-feel. 
  • Ensure the brand essence and personality is executed consistently across all marketing programs.
  • Develop agenda/content for APLA Marketing sessions at each Sales Meeting and lead presentations/workshops, accordingly.
  • Oversee international sell-in assets, including workbook copy, images, for localized translation and production.
  • Travel to key markets and act as brand spokesperson for launch events, media tours, etc. Lead strategic planning sessions with local Marketing team when in-market.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or communications
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in brand marketing or similar field
  • 3+ years proven success leading external agencies in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing marketing strategy
  • Creative and conceptual thinker rooted in the runner, and runner journey
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to effectively interact with customer facing clients as well as presenting effectively in group settings.
  • Proactive and highly motivated self-starter with a results-oriented and goal driven mindset.
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.”
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising, promotional timelines, graphic design, advertising, public relations and consumer marketing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a range of projects with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills including the ability to run reports, analyze information, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
  • Sports industry or retail experience in the athletic specialty category preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours including weekends as needed.

  • Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $84,210 - $126,367 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
