Your Job:
The primary role of the Footwear Product Costing Manager, Asia is to act as a leader in the Brooks’ footwear costing process by creating and updating costing tools that are critical for US and Asia developers to build seasonal products that meet seasonal target FOBs and seasonal Footwear margin goals. You will play a significant role in Brooks’ overall profitability by providing on-time, accurate, and reliable costing information on multiple products/seasons at the same time and negotiating and/or implementing cost saving programs. In addition, this role will analyze and audit factory cost sheets for accuracy and negotiate cost improvements model-by-model and overall.
Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with Senior Manager, Footwear Costing [KK1] [HC2] to ensure all the seasonal pre-costing/costing tools and standards are implemented and followed across all factories in different regions/countries. Identify potential improvements in the costing process and standardize across factory partners and vendors; lead execution on implementation of improvements. Develop costing tools and models for development teams to identify costing tradeoffs and enable them to make more informed decisions, improving product build strategies and driving cost reduction initiatives.Generate accurate models to support global sourcing, negotiations and product development efforts. Manage cost sheets for Brooks footwear products across all products and seasons ensuring on time and accurate costing at each stage of development Work closely with factories and vendors to ensure they are providing accurate and transparent costing sheets in a timely manner. Audit cost sheets for inaccuracies and inconsistencies and research and resolve audit findings with the factories. Benchmark modeled costs against actual to identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Identify opportunities for significant cost improvements for specific products and across product lines and share findings with development and commercialization teams to determine viability of capturing cost savings.Ensure all costing timelines are met across the development process.Analyze time/motion studies to develop costing guidelines and standards that provide costing feedback and input into the design of new products and materials.Identify key cost drivers and keep management informed of potential impactsincluding challenging existing costing standards & policies and driving continuous improvement.Increase awareness and understanding of cost drivers of footwear development and production across footwear team.Analyze costing impact related to manufacturing productivity and efficiencies.Achieve competitive and transparent prices that optimize profits for the company by working closely with Costing Engineer, Sr. Lean and IE Manager, commercialization team and development team to support in the development of negotiation strategies with suppliers. Actively participate in determining product costing direction and strategyMonitor innovations and market trends to enhance and update product costing tools. Develop strong partnerships with factory and key vendor costing teamsWork closely with Asia development and commercialization teams to understand shoe constructions and identify cost saving opportunities Participate in weekly meetings at both factory locations to be aware of and analyze cost impact of potential changes Other duties as assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a focus in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Business Management, Finance/Accounting or related fieldMinimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in footwear development, engineering, manufacturing, and/or costing. 5+ year of costing experience required with track record of significant costing improvementsKnowledge of footwear construction and manufacturing processes, sourcing and costing including strong understanding of cost driversKeen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one anotherA track record of successful negotiationsAbility to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, be results-oriented and work within a teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills – especially negotiation skillExcellent communication skills Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) in both local language and English.
