Advisory: Outsourced and Managed Services: Outsourced Accounting and Advisory Services

BPM's Outsourced and Managed Services division offers a full suite of financial and business advisory services to a diverse clientele. This includes public and private enterprises, owner-operated companies, family-owned businesses and family office, expansive corporations, as well as budding venture-stage start-ups.
Our Outsourced Accounting and Advisory Services unit extends a wide variety of accounting services. These range from routine transactional accounting tasks such as bookkeeping and month-end close to more extensive financial reporting. In the quest to improve systems, our proficient team assists clients with their ERP system implementation needs and leverages technology to streamline their accounting processes and protocols.
In collaboration with our broader Advisory Department service lines, we offer additional services. These encompass payroll and HR consulting, audit readiness, support in securing loans and capital formation, development of succession and exit strategies, and fostering company growth. We do this through comprehensive tax planning, thorough risk management, optimization of systems and processes, along with effective merger and acquisition insights.

Job Summary: 

Are you ready to take your accounting career to the next level? As an Associate 2, you'll be stepping into a role that challenges you to perform tasks with greater complexity and independence. This position is perfect for those who have significant on-the-job experience, have a CPA License or the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam, and are eager to showcase their growing skills. You'll be a vital part of our team, contributing to the success of our clients and the firm.

You Have (Requirements):

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
  • Have an active CPA license, or the educational credentials to sit for the CPA exam, and/or hold a Masters degree in the field of business or accounting. Exceptions can be discussed based on relevant experience and technical expertise.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in public accounting and/or industry as part of an accounting function.
  • Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, reporting and customization within various ERP systems. 
  • Experience using QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite and/or other accounting platforms; Additional certifications like QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Sage Intacct or NetSuite are a plus but optional.
  • Working knowledge of Bill.com, Expensify, and/or Concur is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
  • Knowledge of GAAP is preferred, while deep understanding of accrual accounting is required.
  • You Will (Job Responsibilities):

  • Participate in multiple engagements simultaneously and demonstrate ability to follow standardized processes and procedures.
  • Dive into streamlining transactional accounting and reconciliation, mastering the Procure to Pay Cycle and Revenue cycle.
  • Assemble basic financial statements with precision under various basis of accounting, ensuring every detail is backed up.
  • Create Balance Sheet schedules and tailor workflows to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, while working as a team.
  • Communicate effectively across various platforms, showcasing your excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Utilize and adapt to powerful accounting systems like QuickBooks Online (QBO), NetSuite, or Sage Intacct.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the MS Office Suite, especially showcasing advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Enthusiastically approach and complete your yearly BPM Learning Plans on time.
  • Skills Expected upon Hire:

  • Entry Level Skills: Solid understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP and accrual accounting.
  • Intermediate Skills: Ability to create a wide range of asset and liability reconciliation schedules, assemble complete financial statements with minimal supervision, and suggest journal entries with complete supporting schedules.
