About the team

Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent how people shop for their daily essentials. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we’re in the early stages of building our product. We have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this booming space.

What you'll do

Data Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Build, maintain, and utilize dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for dark store operations. 
  • Analyze data using SQL and other tools to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions and optimize operations.

Knowledgebase Development & Maintenance

  • Update and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent operations across all stores. 
  • Regularly review and improve SOPs based on feedback, data insights, and best practices.

SOP Implementation Across Markets

  • Lead the rollout and implementation of SOPs across multiple markets, ensuring adherence to established guidelines. 
  • Train and support local teams to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operational excellence.
  • Monitor compliance and address deviations in collaboration with regional leads.

Network Design & Planning

  • Develop and optimize the physical and operational network of dark stores to ensure scalability and efficiency. 
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze geographic, demographic, and operational data to identify optimal store locations.
  • Plan and execute expansions, relocations, and closures with a focus on cost-effectiveness and service quality.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the network supports operational goals and customer satisfaction.

Product Operations & Experimentation:

  • Own the product operations pipeline, including configurations for new launches, experiments, and system updates. 
  • Work closely with the product, tech, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of new initiatives.
  • Track the impact of experiments and suggest refinements based on performance data.

What you'll need

  • Proven 3 to 4 years of experience in operations, analytics, or network planning, preferably in retail, logistics, or e-commerce.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and dashboard creation.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of managing multi-market operations.
  • Experience in network design, site selection, or operational scaling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify problems and develop practical solutions.
