When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do...

  • Work with Casper internal teams and our external vendor partners to develop feasibility studies and evaluation of potential locations.
  • Review al construction cost estimates with the Director of Retail to ensure all construction and renovation budgets are up to date. 
  • Responsible for the cost tracking of all projects and leads the value engineering process to ensure every project meeting budget.
  • Coordinate with all internal Casper departments in a timely manner to drive successful project execution that supports business needs and aligns with our mission, vision and values. 
  • Lead and coordinate the Design Development phase; work closely with the architect to further develop the design and coordinate with the required consultants.
  • Lead and coordinate the execution phase; work closely with the architect to complete the final CD set, with Structural and other consultants, working with the team for permitting.
  • Concept new creative design initiatives, including fixture designs, signage components, in-store and window display solutions, storefronts, etc.
  • Create design assets for Casper Retail + Wholesale projects to support Visual direction. 
    • Retail New Store Openings, Store Remodels + Relocations
    • Wholesale Shop-in-Shops + Showrooms
    • Seasonal rollouts and new product launches
    • And other special projects
  • Source in-store props and furnishings such as furniture, finishes, lighting, and decorative accents for all new store openings and existing retail locations.
  • Own and manage fixture and Store Design materials library.
  • Responsible for the turnover to Field Retail and follow up and completion of all items on the punch list. 
  • Establish and manage project workflow and timelines to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and adhere to established project budget.
  • Daily, you will be responsible for keeping Visual + Store Design projects on track by regular communication with:
    • Internal Partners - Visual Merchandising, Environments, Marketing, Real Estate, Procurement, and Retail Operations
    • External vendors - Architects, Design Agencies, General Contractors. 

Our dream candidate is/has…

  • 5-7 years prior store design experience in an Architectural/Design firm or in-house store design team for a retail brand.
  • Prefer Bachelor's in Architecture, Interior Design, or similar.
  • Expert skills in computer drafting/rendering/graphic skills: Google Sketchup 3D & Rhino modeling and views, V Ray rendering, and AutoCAD 2D/3D
  • Inhouse store design experience preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills in verbal, and written format. 
  • Strong knowledge of architectural details and high-end retail design.
  • Ability to navigate complexity, problem solving, and innovative design solutions with ease.
  • Strong presentation skills with a proven track record of communicating ideas to those at various levels of the organization
  • Takes the initiative with a no task too small, no task too big attitude
  • Is a strong project manager who is obsessed with organization, asset, and time management
  • Obsessed with 8+ hours of sleep a night (and loves naps!)
  • 30% travel time needed to conduct site visits, support new store openings or corporate projects 
  • This is a hybrid role, requiring that you work 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from our NYC office

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $110,000-120,000 USD

Casper’s compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
