The Director of Marketing is a strategic leadership role, managing three key marketing functions/teams (inbound, lifecycle and performance - paid/PPC) in the gaming, sports & online gambling space. This individual will be a key leader on our team, steering the marketing operations & strategy within Catena and for Catena’s portfolio of products. The Director of Marketing will be responsible for OKRs and budgets to drive marketing initiatives and work closely with Product, SEO, Content and domain centric squads to facilitate omni-channel strategies. A primary focus of the Director of Marketing will be to drive excellence in how we serve content to our users, diversify and optimise multiple channels and bring to the table new and innovative technologies to drive performance.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • The Director of Marketing will develop year-round marketing plans, including branding, performance marketing campaigns, industry activations, communications and other strategic initiatives
  • Through this work, the goal is to increase awareness of multiple sites through consumer acquisition, engagement, and retention goals of each product
  • They will be responsible for driving a full end-to-end marketing strategy, responsible for both top-of-the-funnel/brand metric improvements and low-funnel/growth performance
  • Working closely with the Product team, they will understand customer needs and effectively communicating the value and benefits of the portfolio of sites, critical to driving conversions and enhancing market positioning
  • In addition, they will work with the commercial team to fuel products through operator & affiliate partnerships
  • This leadership role will collaborate closely with leads across Product, SEO, Content, and Commercial to align strategic direction and further fuel performance to ensure successful launches/strategies with a clear and cohesive marketing plan.
  • Responsibilities 
  • Lead and execute go-to-market plans for new product and feature launches, including positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies to maximise impact and adoption 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention of a user base in the portfolio of sites
  • Analyse market trends, user behaviour, and competitor activities to inform marketing strategies, value proposition of new products and features 
  • Oversee strategy and execution of lifecycle comms, social media content, influencer programs, industry events, and other marketing initiatives on and off-platform to achieve business goals
  • Collaborate with priority partners and publishers to define a content marketing calendar and align marketing plans
  • Determine key metrics to track and measure the success of product marketing initiative and providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization 

  • Leadership and team management responsibilities:

  • Managing team performance effectively through the practicing of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings
  • Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible Catena ambassador
  • Communicating effectively and ensures information is delivered in a clear and timely manner 
  • Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR and TA teams  Enabling team and individual growth from induction stage to ongoing learning and development 
  • TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ of experience in omni-channel marketing, preferably in the gambling/sports betting verticals, with a strong background in paid/PPC performance marketing
  • The role demands a mix of gaming, sports & online gambling  industry knowledge and product growth marketing experience
  • Deep experience leading campaign development from briefing to integrated execution, including online video, digital and mobile ads, paid acquisition, social media, website landing pages, comms initiatives and event activations
  • Experience partnering closely with Product, UX, and Research teams to understand the needs of a target segment and develop product marketing plans to meet those needs
  • Excellent communicator, able to clearly articulate strategic plans, provide timely updates to execs, and ensure alignment with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where teams may need to rapidly evolve plans as business priorities change
  • Skilled in international marketing and eager to drive brand growth in new markets.
  • Competence in analysing marketing data to refine and optimise marketing strategies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to balance creative and strategic demands.
  • Strong leadership qualities, capable of developing high-performing teams.
