Project Manager has overall responsibility for the successful completion of customer development and deployment of medium/large complex projects. The position requires a professional with understanding of project management processes, and the ability to take full responsibility for applying company policies and procedures to resolve complex project management issues. 

Responsibilities include developing a comprehensive integrated project plan and executing against that plan, providing leadership and oversight to the project team, managing customer expectations, and mitigating project risk. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of customer deliverables for all project team members, and accountable for client management and project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Professional Services Consultants (PSCs) to define project deliverables, set project timelines, run meetings and resolve business and technical issues.  Develop project plans for internal staff and external customers using our Professional Services Automation tool. 
  • Without sacrificing quality, ensure project completion is within budget, on schedule and has met or exceeded customer expectations. Anticipate problems and resolve or escalate them to appropriate levels of management for resolution.
  • Conduct business analysis and gather requirements of each customer, define solutions to meet customer results, and manage the resulting project.
  • Responsible for Project Status reporting including actual cost of work performed against budgeted cost of work scheduled, issues and their resolution, and overall task completion status.
  • Assist in defining integrations between proprietary software application platforms and with open source database technologies.
  • Play a lead customer-facing role and manage customer relationships to successful outcomes. Conduct web-based and on-site meetings. Identify and clarify issues, and work collaboratively with customers to define and execute solutions.
  • Prepare new or enhance existing documentation to help customers map business processes to software functionality.
  • Conducts project retrospectives, maintains best practices and contributes to process improvements.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience defining and managing customer-facing software implementation projects, with a preference for experience on projects featuring system integrations.
  • Experience managing projects for international customers is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with the tools and language of system integration, including SQL, APIs, hosting environments, configuration, and custom report generation. 
  • Experience working on a professional services team supporting external customers and projects.
  • PMP preferred
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools. Experience in Certinia a plus. 
  • Direct hands-on experience deploying and supporting hosted, highly available, multi-tenancy web-based applications.
  • Fluency in web-based management tools, such as Salesforce.com, Clarizen, Basecamp, etc.
  • Prior demonstrated experience managing virtual teams is a strong plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
