About the team/role
The Manager, Vendor Partnerships, will lead the Supply Chain Partnerships team at Checkr, focusing on strategic oversight and leadership in managing vendor and court partnerships. This role is critical in driving the strategic direction of Checkr’s supply chain initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals, and enhancing the value of vendor partnerships. As a Manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing the Supply Chain Partnership Managers, overseeing the performance of strategic initiatives, and fostering innovation in supply chain operations.
What you’ll do
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Supply Chain Partnership Managers, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
Strategic Vendor Relationship Management:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with key vendors and courts.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical vendor issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- Ensure that all vendor partnerships are aligned with Checkr’s long-term goals and values.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Drive the strategic direction of supply chain initiatives, aligning them with the company’s broader objectives.
- Oversee the negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of key vendor contracts to optimize performance and value.
- Lead the development and execution of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with top-tier vendors, ensuring alignment with Checkr’s strategic goals.
Performance Management and Improvement:
- Implement and oversee a comprehensive vendor performance management system, ensuring vendors meet or exceed contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Identify areas for improvement within the supply chain and develop strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Incident Response and Risk Mitigation:
- Own the incident response process for critical vendor-related issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact and prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that supply chain risks are effectively managed and mitigated.
Collaboration with Product and Engineering:
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure that court support is aligned with product innovation and operational needs.
- Provide strategic insights and support to R&D initiatives, ensuring that supply chain innovations are practical and scalable.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of regular reports on vendor performance, strategic initiatives, and supply chain efficiency.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management, vendor management, or a similar role within a fast-paced environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Proven track record of successfully managing strategic vendor relationships and driving complex supply chain initiatives.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in data analysis, performance metrics, and supply chain management software and tools.
- Experience in the technology or background check industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements affecting procurement and vendor contracts.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives that align with broader business goals, a plus
- Familiarity with industry-specific challenges and trends in supply chain management, a plus
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations effectively, a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, a plus

At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. The base salary range for this role is $117,866 to $138,666 in Denver, CO.
