About the team/role

The People Program team at Checkr specializes in designing and implementing programs and processes to achieve long and short-term strategic goals that enhance Checkr’s performance and culture. The People Program Partner owns a program portfolio that aligns with those goals. They give detailed attention to program strategy, project delegation, and implementation, including content creation and training. They are responsible for change management, training, and developing methods for measuring effectiveness. They will partner with other People team members to develop, assess, facilitate, and lead programs and processes to support business objectives and strategy implementation. 

The program portfolio this role will oversee includes but isn’t limited to Employee Engagement Strategy & Insights, Talent Reviews,  Succession Planning, D&I Initiatives, Job Leveling Architecture & Competencies Framework, and L&D for the Performance Cycle. This role will also involve vendor management. 

To be successful in this role, experience working in the People space and People-related programs is required. ​​The ability to create and scale brand-new programs and evolve existing ones encompass skills such as identifying organizational needs, building and launching company-wide initiatives, facilitation, strong written and verbal communication skills, and effectively managing stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Advise on existing programs and create and manage new programs. 
  • Manage programs from concept to execution, including change management, communications, content creation, training facilitation, and manage the project team to ensure key milestones are met.  
  • Work with business leaders and stakeholders across the People Team to understand programming needs at Checkr.
  • Partner with leadership to evolve our performance management programs and foster a culture where doing the best work of your career is at the top of Checkr employees’ and managers' minds. 
  • Evaluate People programs and make recommendations to senior leadership on changes in strategy and approach.

What you bring  

  • 3-5 years of experience managing programs/projects for HR teams that align with an organization’s top priorities.
  • Experience presenting executives with written program proposals, retrospectives, and insights.
  • End-to-end program management experience from needs assessment, design, development, and facilitation.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks that could negatively impact a program’s outcome.
  • Comfort working closely with executive leadership by presenting ideas, analysis, and recommendations to them directly and iterating on their feedback. 
  • Excellent relationship builder and strong stakeholder management and experience partnering with different parts of the People and Business teams.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where priorities and projects frequently shift. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisions in uncertain or rapidly evolving situations is required.
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. Adept at tailoring messages to suit the context and the audience, whether in presentations, reports, or everyday interactions. Demonstrates active listening and the ability to engage in meaningful dialogue, ensuring clarity, understanding, and alignment.

At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The base salary range for this role is $110,970  to $130,553 in San Francisco, CA.
