About the Team/Role
Join our innovative Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team as a Senior Analyst, supporting our R&D (i.e. Product and Engineering) efforts. In this critical role, you will drive financial insights and strategic planning initiatives that shape the future of our products at Checkr. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, R&D leadership, and cross-functional teams to enhance product profitability and drive business growth. The ideal candidate brings an analytical mindset, thrives in dynamic environments, and possesses excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between finance and product development.
What You’ll Do
- Product Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies that support product innovation initiatives. Provide data-driven insights that guide investment decisions and resource allocation.
- R&D Financial Planning: Partner with R&D leadership to manage budgets, forecast expenditures, and evaluate the financial impact of ongoing and prospective projects.
- Collaboration and Influence: Work with Product, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with product development objectives and deliver impactful financial analysis to support strategic product initiatives.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Create complex financial models that evaluate new product opportunities, pricing strategies, and competitive analysis to optimize product portfolio performance.
- Executive Communication: Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for executive leadership that summarize financial performance and strategic recommendations for Product and R&D investments.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes, improve data accuracy, and increase efficiency through automation and advanced analytical tools.
What You Bring
- 4+ years of experience in corporate/strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or similar field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in building detailed financial models and performing scenario analyses.
- Experience working with B2B SaaS products and an understanding of product lifecycle management is a meaningful plus.
- Proven ability to work with large data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Effective communication skills with a track record of preparing and delivering presentations that influence senior management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with SQL, Looker, and other BI tools is preferred; willingness to become a power user of financial planning systems.
- A collaborative, open-minded approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. The base salary range for this role is $118,975 to $139,971 in San Francisco, CA.
