About the role
We’re seeking a Financial Analyst to build out the R&D Business Partnership function at Chime! As a finance team member, you will have a key role in developing and shaping our business and financial strategy and executing several high-impact cross-functional initiatives at the company.
You will collaborate with R&D leaders, analytics, procurement, and a host of other partners to drive accuracy and predictability in our cost forecasting. You will also help the R&D teams create the planning and budgeting process and work closely with the team to develop budget tracking and reporting.
We are looking for an analytical problem-solver who can break down complex problems into actionable components without losing sight of the overall strategy.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $82,620 and up to $114,800. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Develop, deliver, and maintain insightful reporting for Engineering, Data, Product, and Finance leadership to ensure teams are operating efficiently and within budget
- Analyze, optimize, and improve our cloud cost forecasting accuracy through advanced modeling and business partnership
- Work closely with R&D leaders to manage, forecast, and support decision analysis for operating expense spend and tech headcount investments
- Collaborate with leadership on headcount planning, reporting, and analysis across multiple departments
- Provide data-driven insights to facilitate decision making and influence strategy with financial model building, reporting, process flow, and dashboard development
- Facilitate deal negotiations with vendors and partners, through financial analysis
- Implement new systems and processes to help the finance function scale as the organization grows
To thrive in this role, you have
- 1-2 years of accounting, finance/FP&A, investment banking, business intelligence, or consulting experience
- A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or relevant field
- Superior communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization
- A strong sense of ownership and commitment to quality. Working diligently to navigate ambiguity/obstacles and drive projects to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to adopt changes and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage time with multiple priorities and opposing deadlines.
- Expert-level financial modeling skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required
Bonus Experience: AWS/Azure, Pigment, Netsuite, Looker, SQL, Snowflake, Python, VBA
