About the role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Operations to support the Chief Data Officer (CDO) in driving the critical initiatives and operational excellence of the Data Org. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, experience with working with data teams and the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the Data org, coordinating high-impact projects, and facilitating effective communication across the organization.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $198,990 and up to $281,900. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Partner with the CDO to implement the data strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to the CDO, providing insights and recommendations on key strategic decisions
- Develop and implement operational frameworks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness. Oversee the daily operations ensuring efficient workflows and processes.
- Lead planning and execution of key operational processes such as team onsites, town halls, monthly team communications, CDO staff meetings and team pulse surveys
- Lead partnership with finance, people team and data leadership to manage data budget, recruiting plans, and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with learning team to craft, plan and implement data team L&D initiatives
- Partner with other Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and cross-functional (XFN) leaders to manage high-impact cross-functional data initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals
- Support communication and collaboration between the CDO and other executives, partners, and teams. Facilitate effective communication across the teams and broader organization
- Prepare and present reports, updates, and presentations on the Data org’s initiatives and performance
- Partner with communication teams to plan and execute on external engagement agenda. Help prepare content for all external communications
To thrive in this role, you have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in a strategic, consulting or operational role, preferably within data, analytics; previous experience as a Chief of Staff is a strong plus.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and handling complex projects.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
