About the role
Chime is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join Chime’s Spend & Credit Progress Team. Credit Progress contains a wealth of knowledge about Credit Builder, Credit Scores, the Furnishing Process, and loads of tribal fintech and Chime tech knowledge. You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the most tenured engineers at Chime who are eager to bring you up to speed. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge cloud technology platforms and distributed systems alongside engineers with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical initiative at Chime.
This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. The starting hourly rate offered for this role and target level of experience will begin at $34 and up to $49. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Learn how to write Ruby like a pro
- Learn about how we use data pipelines to solve production scale problems
- Write production scale code with safe guardrails
- Learn about general fintech concepts and more specifically Credit concepts
- Get comfortable with SQL and how data informs our decision making.
To thrive in this role, you
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Have a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast paced environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Are flexible and ambitious with your goal setting
- Have a low ego and are comfortable working directly with a wide range of stakeholders
