The Job
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) at Christian Care Ministry is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. This role also includes oversight of the Procurement and Vendor Management functions, ensuring that all procurement activities and vendor relationships align with regulatory requirements, ethical standards and performance needs. This role also requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the health care industry and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization. The CCO will work closely with senior leadership to establish and maintain policies and procedures that mitigate risk, ensure operational integrity, and uphold the company’s mission and values.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Compliance Program Leadership
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and practices across all departments.
- Ensure the company’s compliance program is well-documented and accessible to all employees.
Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and ministry leadership as required.
Procurement and Vendor Management Oversight
- Provide oversight and guidance to the Director of Procurement & Vendor Management, including vendor performance and ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Ensure that vendor selection, contracting, and performance management processes are compliant with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management to identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships and supply chain practices.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability in the company’s operations, including procurement and vendor management.
- Implement corrective action plans to resolve compliance issues and mitigate risks across all functional areas.
- Advise senior leadership on potential risks and recommend proactive measures to ensure ongoing compliance.
Training and Education
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to procurement and vendor management.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization through ongoing communication and training initiatives.
Internal Investigations and Audits
- Oversee and conduct internal investigations into potential compliance violations or unethical conduct, particularly in procurement and vendor management.
- Coordinate with internal audit teams to perform regular audits of compliance-related processes and procedures, including vendor contracts and procurement practices.
- Implement necessary changes based on audit findings and ensure continuous improvement of compliance practices.
Collaboration and Advisory
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team on compliance-related matters.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Work closely with the Director of Procurement & Vendor Management to ensure that procurement activities support the company’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations.
Ethics & Integrity
- Set the tone for ethical conduct within the organization, ensuring that all business activities, including procurement and vendor management, reflect the company’s core values.
- Encourage transparency and open communication, providing employees with channels to report concerns without fear of retaliation.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field required; Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within the financial services, banking, health insurance or healthcare industry required
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the health insurance industry required
