The base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $165,000

Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 15% of annual eligible earnings. Actual bonus amounts are determined by length of time in role, individual performance, and organizational performance.

Interested candidates must be willing and able to work onsite minimum 4 times per week in our Melbourne, FL headquarters.

The Job

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Procurement & Vendor Management to lead and oversee the full procurement and vendor management life cycles at Christian Care Ministry for the Medi-Share program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement plans, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring the optimal performance of all vendors across the organization. A key focus of this role will be to overhaul and rebuild procurement and vendor management processes, teams, and systems, ensuring alignment with operational goals and regulatory requirements. This position will be a key business partner to executive leadership and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, legal, and finance, to provide a comprehensive and strategic approach to procurement and vendor management.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy Development

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies for the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of industry trends to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Create and execute commodity strategy plans, ensuring alignment with Christian Care Ministry's overall business objectives.

Vendor Relationship Management

  • Oversee the entire vendor management life cycle, from selection and onboarding to performance monitoring and offboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure the best value for Christian Care Ministry.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

  • Monitor vendor performance against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for vendor and spend optimization, driving cost efficiencies and service improvements.

Process Overhaul and Team Leadership

  • Lead the overhaul and rebuilding of procurement and vendor management processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and vendor management team.
  • Implement and optimize procurement systems and tools to streamline operations and enhance visibility.

Collaboration and Compliance

  • Partner closely with operations teams, legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide a comprehensive perspective on procurement and vendor management that supports Christian Care Ministry’s strategic goals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with Christian Care Ministry policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws.

Essential Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to develop/implement procurement and supplier performance management strategies, concepts and governance.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Strong, approachable executive presence, ability to influence executives and to foster productive working relationships with a diverse group of partners, peers, and leaders.
  • Excellent leadership, superior oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools, with a strong understanding of procurement best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards within the healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of results; ability to implement continuous improvement programs, recognize opportunities to simplify organizational processes and create efficiencies. Anticipates and ensures appropriate resources and structures are in place to support short- and long-term business goals.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and / or relevant procurement / supply management certifications desirable; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management; preferably within the financial services - banking, health insurance or healthcare industry.
  • 5 years of management experience, leading through both authority and influence.
  • Proven experience in leading and rebuilding procurement and vendor management processes and teams.
