LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Clif Bar Plant.
Mission: Role is key to sustained continuity of technical mastery and Line leadership within Manufacturing. The person leads a key area (line) of the business (technical / system / organization) to deliver results defined by Compelling Business Need of the site. They are responsible for delivering key business results, developing others for the line organization. The individual in the role is also expected to demonstrate envisioning skills and use a systematic approach (people & organization related) to sustain results over the long term.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed.
- Lead delivery of SQCDSM targets-Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability & Morale for the lines, units under responsibility, owns 24X7 results of the line/s. Translates section targets into line and units targets and deploys them to the team following Hoshin process. Ensures each employee on the team has individual specific and measurable targets related to the line overall targets, and a clear understanding of what is expected from them and documents it as a work plan for records.
- Lead and is Accountable for Budget planning & Costs control mgmt. & reviews, Work force planning, Governance & Compliance requirements, Loss elimination & deployment of Loss elimination goals among team members, plans production and resources, Recruitment, On-boarding & Early development of new team members.
- Lead regular PDCA-Plan Do Check Adjust with the team to plan how the targets are going to be achieved, executes the plan, and periodically checks and takes necessary actions to stay on track. Runs the DMS (Daily Management System) cycle for the line/group of lines, owns DMS 3 and sets the 24-hour direction for the line team. Leads and Role models HPWS-High performing work system principles & MDLZ leadership framework behaviors.
- Lead Capability building and develop the team on IL6S ways of working, doing periodical Performance reviews, Equipment coaching, Development conversations of the team reporting to him/her and ensures that every individual has an active development plan in place. Is Accountable towards all people systems at the line level like R&R- (Rewards & Recognition), Team effectiveness and Talent & Succession planning. Serve as the starting point for the planned maintenance workflow process.

- Advanced knowledge (including AM (Autonomous Maintenance) Step 4 systems & PM (Progressive Maintenance) Step 3 & skill to maintain the dedicated equipment(s)at basic conditions independently, including the execution of AM & PM (Break down maintenance, planned maintenance) standards on dedicated equipment(s).
- Total Productive Maintenance & 6 Sigma tools & application including qualification of AM step 5-6, and PM step 3.
- The capability to lead a Role within Line teams. Qualify and coach the work process owners and drive the common opportunity areas across the line in PDCA approach. Ability to tactfully handle challenging interpersonal situations influencing people in a union environment, possess team leadership traits with strong communication skills and an attention to details.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- 8 years of related experience.
- 3 years’ management experience or supervisory equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment a plus.
