At Counterpart Health, a subsidiary of Clover, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient outcomes with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant which was incubated by Clover Health as Clover Assistant and has helped improve plan performance and clinical outcomes for Medicare members through proprietary AI technology.
We are looking for Staff Software Engineers that want to solve many different kinds of problems. You will work with other engineers, data scientists, and healthcare professionals and build tools to improve the health of real people.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:
- Setting technical standards and driving technical directions for the engineering team.
- Commit to simplifying the complexities of healthcare by building systems that multiply human efforts.
- Introduce new tools and technologies to solve problems and move our goals forward.
- Lead the team in defining and maintaining development practices that let us iterate quickly while maintaining quality — including writing tests and documenting key implementations.
- Work with Product Managers and operational staff to conceptualize new features with minimal oversight.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for the engineering team.

You should get in touch if:
- You have 8+ years of experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java.
- You are proficient in working with a wide variety of databases, including SQL, NoSQL, distributed databases, and other relevant technologies.
- You approach building and maintaining systems with maturity and rigor.
- You are able to work in different technical systems and concerns.
- You have both built and refactored complex (often distributed) systems.
- You are comfortable with RESTful APIs and understanding of API design principles.
- You are familiar with troubleshoot and debug complex web applications and bottlenecks
- You have a strong understanding of security best practices in web development, including knowledge of common vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
- You demonstrate the ability to influence downwards and upwards, and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
