We’re looking for an experienced Privacy Director who is excited to make an impact and join our Legal team! 
Reporting to the VP, Associate General Counsel, you will act as a strategic privacy advisor for the company, including the Product, R&D, Marketing, Sales, and HR teams. You will develop thoughtful and practical strategies while assessing and mitigating legal risk. 
This role requires an interest in technology, strong legal expertise, a business-oriented mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll do

  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to thoroughly understand business activities and future plans in order to identify, investigate, and manage privacy topics as they arise
  • Work closely with global cross-functional teams including Product, R&D, Marketing, HR, Sales and Security to support decision-making and tech, digital marketing & privacy initiatives across the group
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of privacy related contracts
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and update records of processing activities
  • Assist in managing responses to data subject requests, including requests for access and deletion of personal data, in accordance with privacy laws
  • Assist with internal investigations and responses to data breaches or privacy incidents
  • Develop and enhance privacy related policies and notices
  • Supporting in internal and external audits
  • Advise internal clients with respect to the company’s privacy obligations, identifying and mitigating key data privacy risks associated with the collection and handling of personal data
  • Keep current on relevant privacy laws and regulations in order to provide business-oriented and risk-tolerant guidance
  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Professional proficiency in French and English - you will work with people in different countries
  • Must be qualified to practice law in an EU jurisdiction
  • 6+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with some experience in-house at a tech company or working with tech companies as clients
  • Demonstrated experience on privacy related issues, including (i) advising internal stakeholders on privacy issues; (ii) reviewing and drafting privacy related documents; and (iii) assessing issues of first impression
  • High level of comfort with technology, including emerging technologies and AI
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and to be a positive influence on your team and your client groups
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, business-oriented environment with evolving priorities
  • Nice-to-have

  • Experience with the CNIL and ISO certifications
  • CIPP certification
