The Impact of a Director of Corporate Development to Coupa: 

The Director of Corporate Development will help drive Coupa’s inorganic growth strategy, primarily through helping to lead all company merger and acquisition activities. This individual will report directly to the SVP of Corporate Development, and will help direct, implement, and manage the entire M&A process including strategy development, pipeline development, target outreach, due diligence, financial modeling, partner management, and deal closing.
 
The Director of Corporate Development should have a proven track record of either leading M&A processes for a software business, or leading financial due diligence processes.  This individual will have a special focus on financial modeling/due diligence, presentation material creation & deal sourcing/pipeline development.  This individual must have very strong written, verbal, communication and presentation skills

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead all due diligence workstreams
  • Lead target financial modeling
  • Lead presentation material creation
  • Lead development, tracking and reporting on acquisition KPIs and metrics
  • Participate in M&A strategy creation
  • Participate in pipeline management
  • Participate in Executive/Board of Directors updates
  • What you will bring to Coupa:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exceptional financial modeling/analysis abilities
  • Two (2) or more years of transaction experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Financial Due Diligence, or Valuation Due Diligence
  • Experience with software strongly preferred
  • Ability to structure and manage complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effortlessly with senior executives, junior team members, and outside professional advisors, with the ability to calibrate based on the audience

  • The estimated pay range for this role is as follows:

    •Based in California: $167,875 -$197,500
    •Based in Colorado: $159,375- $187,500
    •Based in New Jersey: $167,875 -$197,500
    •Based in New York: $167,875 -$197,500
    •Based in Washington: $168,300- $198,00

    The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
