The Democratic National Committee is looking for a talented deputy studio director to help manage the DNC’s in-house studio operation. The ideal candidate for this role has significant experience in studio production, deep technical knowledge of studio equipment, and a commitment to effective collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and alongside a team of video and digital professionals in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage the DNC studio space, including coordinating shoots with principals
  • Ensure that all video equipment is up to technical standards, used appropriately, and stored safely
  • Produce video shoots in the DNC studio space
  • Edit, organize, and archive footage, making it easily available to those who need it
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to the studio space, video equipment, and cloud storage
  • Effectively collaborate with multiple teams to coordinate shoots
  • Help manage relationships with vendors and oversee any work they do in the studio
  • Coordinate remote shoots and livestreams
  • Foster cross-team communication and collaboration related to production and tech

  • Requirements:

  • Significant experience in studio production
  • Deep knowledge of video equipment, including cameras, lenses, lights, microphones, monitors, converters, and teleprompters
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience directing on-camera talent
  • Experience managing a crew
  • Knowledge of livestream production
  • Ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with others
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in high-pressure situations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once

  • The starting salary for the Deputy Studio Director position is $80,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of November 13, 2026.  This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.

    Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i). This means that they are doing campaign and finance work, they cannot be a foreign national/visa holder, only U.S. citizens and Green card holders.
