About the role
Crunchyroll is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Localization who will ensure that our promotional content resonates with diverse audiences worldwide, transcending cultural and linguistic boundaries. You will lead two specialized teams: a team of Localization Producers focused on managing translation and linguistic QC projects, and a team of Static/AV Producers dedicated to localization production. We need someone with an understanding of localization production, exceptional management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality marketing assets. You will grow the organization to support multiple lines of business including Theatrical, SVOD, Home Entertainment, Brand, Games, Events, Lifecycle, Editorial, and e-commerce.
You will:

Leadership and Team Management:
- Direct and mentor a team of Localization Producers and AV Producers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for both production teams, ensuring alignment with marketing and business goals.

Localization Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive localization strategies that align with global marketing objectives and ensure consistency across all localized content.
- Oversee the end-to-end localization production process, including translation, adaptation, and quality assurance, to deliver accurate and culturally relevant marketing materials.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead team in partnering with Brand Management, Campaign Management, Creative Services, and long-form localization teams to define content objectives and ensure regional placement needs are met.
- Facilitate an environment for effective communication and alignment across departments to support cohesive and impactful localization efforts.
- Collaborate with longform Localization org to enterprise IP localization strategies, Licensor best practices, KNPs, etc.

Vendor Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with translation services, creative agencies, and localization vendors to support outsourced localization needs.
- Manage vendor performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality localization services.

Freelancer Management:
- Recruit, onboard, and maintain relationships with a global network of freelance translators and linguistic quality control specialists.
- Ensure freelancers adhere to quality standards and contribute to the successful execution of localization projects.

Technology Integration:
- Work with the Marketing Solutions team to identify and implement appropriate tools and infrastructure that enhance localization production workflows.
- Help drive the adoption of technology solutions that optimize translation and production processes.

Reporting:
- Deliver reports to Marketing Globalization and Marketing Operations leadership on capacity, resource utilization, and projections.
- Forecast future production needs based on current trends, historical data, and upcoming projects to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with leadership to assess the impact of localization efforts on global marketing initiatives.
In the role of Senior Manager, Marketing Localization you will report to the Director, Marketing Globalization.
We are considering applicants for the location of Culver City, CA. Will consider US-based remote for the right candidate.
About You
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 12+ years experience in translation, localization, and linguistic quality control, with a solid understanding of international mastering and versioning of marketing content in an entertainment studio
- You have 5+ years experience with marketing campaign workflows, including understanding the creative, static artwork, and AV Post Production processes
- You have 2+ years experience leading teams, including Localization Producers and AV Producers, with skills in team development and performance management.
- You are passionate about theatrical and SVOD campaign marketing. Anime knowledge or fandom a plus!
- You have familiarity with localizing and distributing licensed content
- You have demonstrated experience in managing global freelance linguists, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
- You have familiarity with translation management systems and localization technology
