Position Description
The Site Technology Specialist supports learning experiences for scholars using technology under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology. Assists staff and scholars in the use of technology equipment and software applications. Performs minor maintenance and minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting to computers and peripheral equipment. Documents and resolves computer related problems. Works closely with the site support staff.
Responsibilities
Provides educational technology services and supports activities for scholars in the application of technology instruction.Evaluate and recommend purchases of hardware, peripheral equipment, and software applications.Supports scholars in use of computer systems and peripheral equipment and may support activities in usage of and lessons incorporating technology.Supports the use and users of technology at assigned site(s).Provides site-based first response to site level technological problems.Performs on-site maintenance and minor repair of equipment.Troubleshoots technological problems with on-site systems and submits work orders for repair when necessary.Provides training for staff and scholars in the use of specific devices, equipment or software.Maintains site inventory control of technology systems and scholar records.Serves as point of contact for outside vendors and repair personnel connected to on-site technological systems.Performs related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical knowledge of desktop systems and different operating systemsTechnical knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting network issuesSome hands-on hardware troubleshooting experienceSome familiarity with Google Admin Console in areas such as user and device policy, account management, and other tasksProvide technical support in computer based classroom instructionExtremely detail oriented and deadline-drivenCommunicate effectively verbally and in writingOperate and set up computer devices and other technological equipment, associated peripherals and related softwareEffective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills; supportive attitude toward teachers, staff, scholars and familiesReflective and open to feedback and developmentQualifications and Experience
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or information technologies and/or 2 years equivalent field work experienceCertifications in A+ Hardware/Software, N+, CCNA, MCSA or GOOGLE helpful but not requiredAt least six-months experience working in a school setting preferredBilingual English/Spanish helpful but not required Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB TestSalary and benefits
We offer a competitive salary based on experience. Hourly salary range starts at $20/hour.
