About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and elevate the accounting team at FareHarbor, reporting directly to the Global Finance Director. In this role, you will oversee the accounting and reporting cycle, developing policies, procedures and controls to support rapid growth while maintaining a strong internal control environment. You will manage complex technical accounting and intricate global tax strategies in collaboration with teams at Booking, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions and the accuracy of consolidated financial statements under both US GAAP and local standards.
This hands-on role requires close collaboration with commercial teams to support strategic business decisions and strong partnerships with external stakeholders at Booking including Risk and Controls, Technical Accounting, Accounting Transformation and Tax. This role will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, automation of accounting tasks and scalability for the team as FareHarbor expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring technical expertise and operational effectiveness
- Implement accounting policies in line with US GAAP and local regulations, ensuring they withstand audit scrutiny
- Oversee multi-entity accounting and reporting, covering regions such as the US, Netherlands and Australia
- Collaborate with the Booking Tax team to develop tax strategies that mitigate international tax risk and optimize FareHarbor’s tax position, including transfer pricing, VAT and cross-border tax issues
- Oversee technical accounting for business initiatives, assessing financial implications of key decisions in areas such as revenue recognition and asset valuations
- Oversee closing processes, ensuring the accuracy of consolidated financial statements, tax and statutory filings
- Serve as the FareHarbor stakeholder for Booking Accounting transformation projects, working alongside FH analytics to align accounting and business reporting tools (eg Tableau reporting, SAP migration)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, Master’s degree highly preferred
- CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent qualification required
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, with experience in a multinational environment
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders and navigate complex hierarchies
