About the Role

FareHarbor, a Booking holding company, is looking for a full time Data Engineer with strong development capabilities and a focus on data-centric solutions to join our data engineering team in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will be proficient in building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing data architectures, and ensuring seamless data flow across the organization. We’re a quickly growing company with a robust product that tens of thousands of people rely on to run their businesses every day. As we grow, insights into our data are increasingly important in order to optimize our internal processes, inform our long-term strategy, and help our clients increase their sales. 

What you’ll do here:

  • Implement data infrastructure to serve the needs of our Reporting and Analytics teams.
  • Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Optimize data storage and querying solutions using AWS Redshift.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Develop and automate workflows using Airflow.
  • Create and maintain data models and transformations with DBT.
  • Extract and integrate data from 3rd party APIs, understanding and adapting to different data formats and structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, contributing to the development of tools and processes.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, data quality, integrity, and security of our data infrastructure within AWS.

Requirements:

  • Have 5+ years experience working with a production codebase and mission-critical systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Have experience with Apache Airflow and DBT
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly Redshift, IAM, S3.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure management using Terraform, familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Have interest in data modeling, data access, and scalable data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
