We are looking for Engineers to join different teams: 

FareHarbor, a Booking Holding Company, is looking for full time software engineers to join our Engineering teams in Amsterdam, with a focus on solving Product Teams shared challenges, delivering reusable tools/components, and improving the developer productivity.

 

1- Platform Engineering- Backend Engineer 

What you’ll do here:

  • Design and implement complex new functionality with a strong focus on reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
  • Write code that is clean, secure, well tested and documented.
  • Influence technology choices and architecture of newly built components and services.
  • Produce reusable code components and libraries leveraged in production code.
  • Function as an ambassador for engineering culture values and advocate the good practices throughout the whole organization.
  • Coach and challenge engineers in adopting proper quality standards, both in coding and way of working
  • Thinking outside the box; you're willing to consider different solutions and methods for reaching your desired outcome.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software development using Python.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, implementation, and documentation.
  • Proven experience in software engineering with a strong focus on platform or infrastructure development.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, high-availability systems, and service-based architecture.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data storage solutions.

 

2- Product Team- Backend engineer

What you’ll do here:

  • Design, develop, and implement user facing features and products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Test and iterate on features based on user feedback.
  • Write automated tests to ensure that our applications are reliable and scalable.
  • Function as an ambassador for engineering culture values and advocate the good development practices throughout the whole organization.
  • Coach and challenge engineers in adopting proper quality standards, both in coding and way of working. (e.g. peer reviews, etc)
  • Think outside the box; you're willing to consider different solutions and methods for reaching your desired outcome.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Python and its ecosystem
  • Good knowledge of any of modern Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
  • Good understanding of software design patterns and principles, including SOLID
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

 

3- Payments & Reporting Team- Backend engineer 

What you’ll do here:

  • Implement and maintain features that support our payments and reporting logic.
  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable and documented code that follows industry best practices.
  • Write automated tests to ensure that our applications are reliable and scalable.
  • Influence technology choices and architecture of newly built components and services.
  • Collaborate with other product team members to gather requirements, refine designs, tackle technical challenges, resolve issues, and launch features
  • Think outside the box; you're willing to consider different solutions and methods for reaching your desired outcome.

Requirements:

  • Have a good understanding of software design patterns and principles, including SOLID
  • Strong knowledge of Python and its ecosystem
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, implementation, and documentation
  • Good understanding of system architecture, high-availability systems, and service-based architecture.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data storage solutions
  • Familiarity with web technologies like JavaScript/Angular/Vue/HTML/CSS and willingness to work with it from time to time.

  • Have 4+ years experience working with large-scale production codebases and mission-critical systems.
  • Have experience gathering requirements, working with technical specifications, testing, and debugging.
  • Have experience tackling performance and scalability challenges.
  • Have strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Be eager to learn whatever necessary to tackle problems head-on.
  • Be passionate about getting things right.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to own and take responsibility.
  • Be comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment.
