About the Role

FareHarbor is looking for a full time Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team in Amsterdam. We’re a quickly growing company with a robust product that tens of thousands of people rely on to run their businesses every day. With our rapid growth, we face interesting engineering challenges that are critical to keeping the tours and activities industry running.

What you’ll do here:

  • Implement and maintain cloud security architecture for cloud platforms
  • Implement security-related features in our applications and infrastructure
  • Support and respond to threat detections and security incidents 
  • Work closely with product, platform, and security teams to ensure security cloud security measures meet regulatory requirements and contractual obligations (e.g. NIST , PCI DSS , GDPR , SOX ,SOC2 )
  • Optimize security controls to balance security requirements with business needs and other requirements
  • Support security related assessments like pentests, audits and provide necessary documentation and evidence
  • Conduct security reviews of cloud-based applications and services
  • Provide security guidance and training to other teams within the organization
  • Communicate security concepts and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Participate in the security on-call rotation
  • Participate in design reviews and threat modeling sessions
  • Develop tools, processes, documentation, and training to help foster a security-first mindset throughout the company
  • Maintain and develop knowledge of cyber security trends 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience building secure infrastructure
  • Proficiency with at least one of major Public Cloud Service Providers - AWS, GCP, Azure or similar. Certifications in this area are a plus 
  • Experience with infrastructure tools and frameworks: Terraform, configuration management, IAM, WAF, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code
  • Be proficient with at least one - Python, Ruby, Go, Java or other similar high-level programming languages
  • A good understanding of Linux systems and network security
  • Experience with securing Kubernetes workloads
  • Basic cryptography knowledge, hands on experience with TLS

  • Proactive attitude, always on the look-out for improving your and our way of working
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex systems and make decisions based on data and best practices
