  • NC Residents: $103,935 (min) - $135,115 (mid) - $166,296 (max)
  • DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $109,132 (min) - $141,871 (mid) - $174,610 (max)
  • DC Residents: $122,643 (min) - $159,436 (mid) - $196,229 (max)

What you'll be doing 

As a Cloud Engineer specializing in Azure, you will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on the Azure platform. The successful candidate will lead cloud migration efforts, manage system performance, and automate deployment processes using infrastructure-as-code tools. Collaborating with security teams and other stakeholders, this role ensures the implementation of best practices in security, performance, and cost management.

Responsibilities and Contributions

Functional Role

  • Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructure solutions based on project and customer requirements.
  • Migrate on-premises applications and systems to the Azure cloud platform, ensuring smooth and secure transitions.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot to ensure optimal cloud operations and system availability.
  • Develop and maintain automated deployment processes using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) or Terraform.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including encryption, access control, and threat detection.
  • Work with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools, supporting continuous integration and deployment.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, procedures, and troubleshooting efforts.

 

Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies

Must-Have Skills 

  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts in Azure (e.g., Virtual Networks, Load Balancers).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools for continuous integration and deployment
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or PhD with 1+ years of related experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Highly Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience with AWS cloud services in addition to Azure.
  • Familiarity with SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) and/or GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence) operations.
  • Proven experience with integrating software systems in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with re-architecting legacy on-premises systems for the cloud.
  • Familiarity with SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) and/or GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence) operations.
  • Expertise in using cloud cost optimization tools and strategies to manage and reduce cloud spending efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings, which may involve driving or flying.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
