Position Summary:
Mirai Bio is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic co-op to join the Analytical Development Team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in the field of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technologies, crucial for the delivery of nucleic acid-based therapeutics. They will work cross-functionally with internal groups and external labs to advance Mirai’s platform. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading edge, dedicated, innovative scientists in industry!
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and optimization of analytical methods to characterize raw materials, in-process and finished products of LNP therapeutics.
- Perform analytical testing, including LC (liquid chromatography), DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering), and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
- Analyze the purity, stability, and integrity of nucleic acids and lipids within LNP formulations.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to advance company objectives.
- Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks.
- Present findings to cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. candidate in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and with peers on cross-functional teams.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Independently motivated, organized, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competence with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
