Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and results-driven Head of Digital Marketing (Growth) with a proven track record in developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies and driving measurable revenue growth across various digital channels. This individual will take the ownership of engaging and acquiring the target audience, driving and owning subscription revenues, and enhancing the brand presence of this B2B SaaS business. The Head of Growth will deliver on key projects and initiatives that are critical to the FL100 business, including digital go-to-market (GTM)strategy and execution, partnership with large platforms, and digital product creation and evolution.
The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of the online small and medium sized business (SMB) needs across online advertising, consumption, and measurement. They will use their influence and relationship-building skills to discover the evolving business needs of SMBs and develop and execute strategies to shape how new and existing businesses grow. They anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the trends that shape the business vertical and clearly articulate how FL100 can grow its businesses. The successful candidate will work closely with FL100 leadership and directly contribute to the company's success by facilitating its commercial growth. The ideal candidate must be an independent, open-minded, goal-oriented strategic business thinker with excellent communication skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with FL100's objectives of launching and growing a subscription-based business targeting small and medium sized businesses wanting to grow by creating and marketing new, innovative products.
- Develop and implement a digital go-to-market strategy and roadmap in order to engage, acquire and retain small business customers directly as well as through appropriate channel partnerships. As FL100’s first marketing hire, this individual will be hands-on and create and deliver GTM via creative solutions, playbooks, communications/email campaigns, monetization campaign strategies, strategic value packages, case studies, and thought leadership.
- Proactively identify and conduct due diligence on platform expansion opportunities; work closely with development team on product features and prioritization based on market insights. Work closely with FL100 leadership to articulate product differentiation, inform and adjust overall product strategy as needed.
- Proactively identify partnership opportunities, including but not limited to eCommerce platforms.
- As the team grows, lead, mentor, and manage the digital marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Campaign Development and Execution:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and more.
- Ensure all digital marketing initiatives are integrated, cohesive, and aligned with brand messaging and objectives.
- Data Analysis and Performance Tracking:
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights to senior leadership, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Maintain an up-to-date view on industry trends and competitive landscape among relevant generative AI startups and generative AI efforts being pursued by large companies.
- Customer Acquisition and Retainment:
- Own subscription revenue growth
- Develop and implement customer acquisition and retainment plans, oversee content creation, track KPIs and dynamically adjust as needed
- Deliver narratives and sales materials to source new customers
- Proactively analyze customer insights to inform overall business strategy
- Revenue and Budget Management:
- Manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum ROI on marketing spend.
- Explore new digital marketing opportunities and tools to enhance campaign performance and drive innovation.
- Inform financial models for revenue forecast, refine business case, and guide FL100’s commercial growth initiatives.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for digital marketing initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of professional experience, including in digital marketing and go-to-market strategy for software/SaaS products with a high-velocity, online sales motion, familiarity with major digital marketing channels and technology.
- Results-driven, high-performer with highly collaborative style.
- Start-up experience (e.g. Series A/B) is a must; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Proven ability to grow and scale software products targeted at small business owners. Deep understanding of how small business commerce clients manage accounts, operate, and share/educate the sales pod to drive the business, specifically sectors such as Food and Beverage, Health & Beauty and other Consumer Goods sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies that drive growth and engagement. Strong understanding of SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, web analytics, and other digital marketing channels.
- Solution-oriented, first-principles problem solver. Curious, sharp business acumen.
- Experienced in structuring and securing channel partnerships with digital platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to meld technical understanding, market insights, and competitive intelligence into compelling, value-creating strategies.
