Position Summary:
FL106 is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with expertise in mouse handling to play a vital role in the company’s efforts to validate novel target discovery approaches. The candidate must be independent, goal oriented, have excellent communication skills and be willing to work in a highly dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan and execute experiments that support research activities, project goals and platform development.
- Serve as a key contributor to the development of new technologies in genetic medicines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, with 2+ years of laboratory experience preferably in bio-pharmaceutical industry.
- Candidates of various experience levels will be considered. Position to be determined commensurate with experience.
- Extensive experience with mouse handling: injections (IV, IM, SC), blood collection, tissue harvesting.
- Performing and recording animal health observations, communicating adverse findings to the veterinarian technicians to ensure animal care standards are in keeping with applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
- Writes and maintains animal protocols.
- Experienced with various ELN and LIMS systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner, document results in laboratory notebooks.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Motivated and excited about biological discovery and assay development.
- A dynamic problem solver and self-starter
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tissue processing.
- Experience with molecular biology assays with a variety of readout technologies, such as qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence.
