The Position:

Mirai Bio is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Principal Scientist to lead lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation development efforts. This individual will be responsible for the design and development of advanced LNP formulations for pre-clinical stage programs. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in LNP formulation and bioconjugation and will collaborate across multiple teams to optimize our LNP platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of LNP formulations for nucleic acid delivery
• Optimize bioconjugation strategies to enhance LNP targeting and efficacy
• Develop integrated processes for production of advanced LNPs for early evaluations and further scale-up toward GMP
• Manage collaborations with internal and external partners, ensuring stakeholder alignment and delivering against tight timelines
• Ensure adequate resources (materials, equipment, and personnel) are available to meet production schedule and study timelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve LNP function and efficacy
• Prepare and present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership and collaborators.

 

Qualifications:

• PhD in a life sciences or engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in nanoparticle formulation and/or drug delivery
• Extensive experience in the formulation, development, and characterization of LNPs, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, or similar
• Hands on bioconjugation experience
• Strong knowledge of process development, manufacturing, and scale-up
• A strong team player with the ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable delivering against challenging commitments
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
