The Company:

Quotient Therapeutics is a privately held, early-stage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need.

Position Summary:

Quotient Therapeutics seeking a Senior Scientist with a strong immunology background, who will be responsible for the translational validation of discovery platform targets in cell-based and disease-relevant pharmacological models.

The ideal candidate will be a talented, goal-oriented and highly motivated individual who will play a vital role in the company’s efforts to progress early discovery projects in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. They will have a strong background in immunology, autoimmune diseases and drug discovery, with experience leading early discovery projects.  The successful candidate would thrive in a highly dynamic, fast-paced and cross-functional team environment. Excellent communication skills, independence and open-mindedness are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and lead Immunology activities across multiple autoimmune-based projects in the early discovery phase
  • Work both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams and CROs to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Lead the design and interpretation of somatic genomics platform studies for identification of novel targets in a range of autoimmune disease areas
  • Design and implement robust in vitro and in vivo pharmacological models to validate target mechanisms and translational relevance to human disease
  • Evaluate and align modalities with target mechanisms and define hit identification strategies
  • Assess target engagement, in vitro pharmacology, in vivo PK/PD assessment and biomarker plans in preparation for drug candidate selection
  • Utilize creativity and critical thinking skills to identify assays, troubleshoot/optimize experiments and to interpret data to drive go/no go decisions
  • Must display attention to detail, sense of urgency and ”outside the box” thinking

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline with 5-7 years of industry experience, with a focus on autoimmune disease (title will be adjusted for the level of experience)
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of cellular and molecular biology techniques. Proficient in experimental design, assay execution, troubleshooting, data analysis, and data interpretation
  • Strong expertise in drug target validation and immunological assays using primary tissues and primary human blood, preferably primary human B and T cells
  • Experience in FACS, cell culture, RT-qPCR, western blots and cell-based genetic manipulation (e.g., knockdown, knockout, overexpression) is a must. Proficiency with RNA-seq, cloning and image analysis are highly preferred
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Execution focused, team oriented, and highly motivated
