As our Payroll Specialist, Europe you’ll join a small and mighty team, working alongside our HR team for Europe, Global Payroll team and Finance team, as well as the broader People team to provide the best employee experience in Europe.
This role is responsible for timely and accurate processing of Flexport's European Payroll together with our vendors and will be the primary contact for all European employees’ payroll or compensation related questions.
You will:
- Be responsible for the monthly European payroll in collaboration with the payroll team, people and finance teams and our vendors, including administration & calculation
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, payments, portal login and general payroll related questions
- Review/Audit payroll related information and processes
- Assist in periodic audits and reporting requests as needed and take necessary steps to correct any discrepancies letter
- Participate in special projects together with the local people team as assigned such as documenting workflows, registering in new countries for payroll taxation, improving processes/procedures and periodic updates to payroll related forms
- Work together with the local people team on general people related tasks
You should have:
- 5+ years of experience in payroll, preferably in one of these or multiple countries: Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain, UK
- Spoken and written English, any other languages (Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish or Danish) are a big plus
- International and especially European experience is preferable.
- Familiar with payroll processing and ensuring confidentiality, tact and sensitivity when handling these
- Great communication skills including effective listening, writing and presentation.
- Knowledge of specific HRIS (Workday) is an advantage.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization and planning skills and fanatical levels of attention to detail and event improvement in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Proficient in MS Office and Google apps
