The Opportunity:

As a Flexport Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our capabilities and the needs of our clients. From optimizing supply chains to integrating complex systems like APIs, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Electronic data interchange (EDI), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), you’ll be at the forefront of delivering tailored solutions. This role is about understanding the big picture of global trade from Flexport’s perspective and applying that knowledge to create client-centric solutions. This position requires exceptional communication skills, technical acumen, and a deep commitment to helping businesses thrive in an ever-evolving industry.

You will: 

  • Evaluate client opportunities for operational and technical feasibility, culminating in approvals or alternative recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Sales, Support, and external clients to instill confidence and drive successful outcomes.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of issues using tools such as CloudWatch, Metabase, and Postman.
  • Continuously refine our approach to solutions engineering and contributing to the evolution of Flexport’s product offerings.
  • Mentor the sales team on best practices, product features, and requirements, while maintaining our knowledge management database.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams and clients, ensuring the best possible experience from pre-sales to post-implementation.

You should have: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a solutions engineer or an integrations engineer working with B2B integrations with enterprise customers.
  • Significant experience in logistics, supply chain, or eCommerce, preferably in pre-sales, solution design, or support roles.
  • Agility to learn quickly and adapt in an industry that’s constantly evolving.
  • A solid understanding of web APIs, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Electronic data interchange (EDI), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and how they interact in supply chains.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations and workflows.
  • Experience with tools like CloudWatch, Metabase, and Postman for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to navigate complex problems with confidence.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Familiarity with managing knowledge bases and a willingness to take ownership of documentation and resources.
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry

Extra points for:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering solutions with enterprise integrations platforms such as Dell Boomi, Tibco, BEA, Mulesoft or similar
  • Experience with integrating SaaS and on-prem ERP, Fulfillment, Order Management, or Warehouse Management systems
  • Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including partner’s technical teams and their system integrators.
