Job Title:                    Medical Receptionist

Department:              Radiology

Job Summary:          Manages the check in and check out process function in the department.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: This Full Time opening is for a Medical Receptionist within our Brandon Radiology department. This role is responsible for managing the traffic at the Check In and Out windows. Responsible for maintaining an efficient work environment in a radiology office. Must be able to perform multiple duties with ease. Duties include fielding phone calls, answering patient questions, scheduling appointments, registering new patients and updating records. Experience required. Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred. Background in Radiology needed. A minimum of 2 years Radiology experience required. Medical Office experience helpful!

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Assist traffic at the front window
  • Complete patient check in and out processes
  • Collect and process monies due
  • Assist traffic on the phones
  • Print films or discs from PACS for patients as needed
  • Assist Cardiology, Laboratory, and Physical Medicine with front office duties
  • Perform incidental duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Strong team player
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Previous experience in a Radiology environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience required

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Above average organizational skills

Occupational Exposure:

  • Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
