Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Department: Rehabilitation Department
Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation
Position Level: Salaried
Job Summary: Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist will act as the client’s partner throughout the trip of restoring motion and ensuring the client will function at their personal best. Treatment is specific to upper extremities.
Position is Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. NO WEEKENDS!!!!

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Identify and meet patients’ goals and needs
- Offer cost effective treatments that help improve client’s motion and mobility
- Reduce the need for medications and provide alternatives to surgery
- Develop care plans using a variety of treatment techniques
- Create fitness and wellness oriented programs tailored to patients’ specific needs
- Provide quality, personalized, and evidence-based care and proven interventions
- Motivate patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally
- Promote client’s healthy lifestyle by improving strength, flexibility, and coordination
- Evaluate effects and monitor and communicate progress
- Consult and practice with other health professionals
- Document patient care services
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Normal physical ability
- Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Occupational Exposure:
- High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate from an Accredited Physical Therapy University
- Current Florida Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist license (or actively working towards CHT certification)
- Hand Therapist Certification
- Current American Heart Association BLS
- Strong customer service orientation
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong team player
