Position Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Supervisor has a primary responsibility in the quality, performance, and supervision of all Nuclear Medicine
procedures.

Essential Functions
• Adheres and supports policies, procedures, mission statements and strategic imperatives.
• Acts with expertise in Nuclear Medicine and assists in decision making.
• Establishes and productively assesses and corrects staffing patterns that support excellent customer service.
• Ensures compliance with Quality Control standards.
• Assists in representing nuclear medicine to management when considering equipment choices, technical issues, and personnel
issues.
• Maintains radiation safety records.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to the modality with responsibility for radiation safety monitoring and
practice as it pertains to radiopharmaceutical storage, handling, and administration.
• Monitors application of sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Consistently exercises professional judgment and maintains a professional demeanor.
• Communicates and interacts closely with the scheduling department, Physicians, and Radiologists to ensure optimum patient/staff
flow and resolves patient care issues.
• Compiles,monitors, and analyzes data for criticalsuccessfactors, Joint Commission, and budget variance reports.
• Interacts and works with other departmentsupervisors and staff to continually improve patient care issues(i.e., tasksforces, focus
studies, PI teams, steering committees). Performs PI initiatives, and processflow changes as directed.
• Utilizes all Corporate imaging computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Performs staff orientation.
• Provides team members with in-services, training, and education.
• Facilitates monthly staff and lead meetings.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state,
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Other Related Functions
• Evaluates time entry for accuracy/completeness.
• Maintains a cooperative work environment in the department.
• Ensures that all standards of the State of Florida, Federal Agencies, Administration, or other applicable regulatory agencies are
met or exceeded.
• Monitors compliance for license, registry, and mandatory education of technologists.
• Develops new techniques and guidelines.
• Assists with patient care as necessary to ensure quality customer satisfaction.
• Works with Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to assure safe radioactive material practices.
Education/Training
• Associate’s degree required.
• Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Licensure/Certification
Must meet ONE of the following in totality:
• Maintains current certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology
Certification Board (NMTCB) OR;
• Maintains current certification as an (ARRT)(N) American Registry of Radiology Technologists in Nuclear Medicine.
Must meet ALL the following:
• Maintains current Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.


Experience
Three (3) years of experience working in a hospital based nuclear medicine department
