·       9 month fixed term contract, starting February

About the role
We have a fixed term role available to join the Food for Thought team of Nutritionists as parental leave cover, reporting into the Community Nutrition and Food for Thought Manager. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering the Food for Thought nutrition education programme in primary schools, inspiring students to make informed food choices to empower healthier futures.

Responsibilities include
-          planning and delivering in-class nutrition lessons and supermarket visits
-          promoting Food for Thought to new schools
-          supporting PR and communications activities to raise awareness of Food for Thought
-          contributing to teamwork and attending regular team meetings (online and quarterly in-person meetings) and
-          committing to ongoing professional development to stay abreast of developments in nutrition.

As part of a team of Nutritionists across the country, you’ll work autonomously to plan and deliver the programme in your region – regular domestic travel will be required, mostly in the upper North Island. You’ll build great relationships and proactively communicate with schools and supermarkets, and share your ideas and inspiration with the team, to promote and grow the Food for Thought programme.

At Foodies, we believe we have a responsibility to be a positive force for good and we are committed to being HereforNZ. We are committed to supporting strong communities, meaningful and safe work for our people, and protecting our environment.

·       FOR EACH COMMUNITY: Making everyday foods affordable for all, supporting local communities, and educating for healthier choices
·       FOR OUR PEOPLE: Prioritising safety & well-being, enabling diverse careers and creating a place where everyone can be their best
·       FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT: Reducing our impact on climate change, sending less waste to landfill and sourcing responsibly through our supply chain

About you
You’ll be a qualified Nutritionist and a natural ‘people person’ with excellent communication skills. You’ll enjoy the responsibility of managing your own workload to meet agreed performance standards, as well as fostering relationships with others and contributing to effective teamwork. You’ll be knowledgeable about nutrition - particularly the nutrition needs of tamariki – and passionate about making a difference to the lives of New Zealanders. As this is a fixed term contract, you’ll be eager and able to learn quickly and ‘hit the ground running’, with the support of your manager and teammates.
